You have a plan for the coming days.
You are ready to execute the plan.
But what if you realize you underestimated the size of the task?
It is much larger than you originally thought.
Do you stop or quit?
You may contemplate defeat for a moment, but then that moment has to pass.
You are faced with an uphill, larger than you, battle.
However, as you go into the this challenge, your overwhelming task may not even be work related.
What if your task is to eliminate any distraction from your life that causes you to lose focus on the obstacle ahead?
What if your task is to begin an exercise routine?
What if your task is to begin an addiction program?
What if your task is to merely physically get out of bed?
Whatever your task is, I want to encourage you to keep moving forward.
And consider these nine steps.
- Gather yourself and breathe deeply.
- Read one email at a time and respond.
- Move one piece of paper at a time and file it accordingly.
- Smile that you are on your way.
- Sip your coffee or water or tea.
- Repeat Step 1.
- Repeat Step 2.
- Repeat Step 3.
- Consider yourself well on your way.
As you go into this possibly overwhelming circumstance, do not be frightened by the size of the task in front of you.
Just be strong and courageous and get to work.
