An Everyday Expression of Hope and Its Potential

An Everyday Expression of Hope

Life As Musical Chairs

October 7, 2020 by John Hembree Leave a Comment

The music stops…and then what?

There is a scene from the movie Margin Call, where the financial world is about to collapse and the main character compares the dire situation to musical chairs.  He even says, “The music has stopped.”

And for each of us, at some point, the music will stop, and in life our breathing will diminish, our heart rate will slow and there will be no chairs left for us to sit and continue the game.

The game will be over…at least for us.

The game of musical chairs is quite similar to life.

As we go through the game, or life, we all know the music will eventually stop and life will end.

And while we are going around and around, in the game, and in life, our mind is whirling with thoughts, how do I get to a seat, how do I stay in this game at least one more round, and by chance, how do I eventually win?

The game along with life does eventually end.

It’s all about how we play the game…how we live our life…while still in it.
