The enlightenment of one does not dispel the ignorance of the many.
At times, I will come up with a phrase that resonates with me.
Probably not original at all, but, it was in my head a few moments ago.
In reading Isabel Wilkerson’s recently published book, Caste, The Origins of Our Discontents, it has become clear, maybe for the first time in my life, why we do what we do.
We, we being people.
Why we live where we do.
Why we speak as we do.
Why we associate with those that we do.
Yet I find myself more restless than ever before, trying to determine how can one person have any affect on the effect of those they come in contact with.
I am simply…and I am…not sure.
