If you were to have a record of your prayers would you go back and want to read them?
Would one of those prayers be for your husband to be taken over by God and begin to provide spiritual leadership for your home and for your children?
Would one of those prayers be a plea for your sick child with a dangerously high temperature as you sit helplessly beside their bed?
Would one of those prayers be for you to develop a hunger to personally know God with a much deeper faith?
To use you to touch others?
How would God answer those prayers?
Would God answer them by a instantenous miracle or would he give us an opportunity to be part of the miracle?
By you living a life that honors God in front of your husband.
By you providing a cool cloth to your child’s fevered brow.
By you fasting and praying and holding on to God until that deeper faith is bestowed upon you by your own refusal to give up.
By you being God’s miracle to other people in their time of need.
He gives us the opportunity to be a miracle.
I can think of no better way to explain this than by the following scene from the movie, Evan Almighty.
You are what you have been praying for.
You are the opportunity.
You are the miracle.
