Just a spoonful of sugar makes the medicine go down, in the most delightful way. Mary Poppins
Most adults remember the Walt Disney classic, Mary Poppins.
Many can sing the lyrics from, A Spoonful of Sugar.
The song tells us that even the most mundane or difficult challenge can be overcome by applying a positive attitude.
And when we have to take a dose of reality, it can taste pretty horrible.
Who likes to look at reality when things are not going well in their life?
No one.
Definition.
Reality – the world or the state of things as they actually exist, as opposed to an idealistic or notional idea of them.
Me?
I will go with the idealistic and notional approach every time.
Why?
Because I believe a perceived reality is not real at all.
Who can kill an idea that comes to you?
Only you.
Who can throw water on a flaming dream you have?
Only you.
Who can change the perspective of reality in your mind?
Only you.
Do not left someone else’s reality become your reality.
Do not allow someone else to change your focus.
Do not give someone else the reins to your life.
Do not let someone write your story.
Take the necessary steps toward extraordinary success that others will not.
Some might argue that we have people in our life to “temper” our unrealistic dreams.
I would argue that we have become surrounded by dream killers.
If that is the case, then you have to learn how to block those people, and their negative reality from stealing your dream.
Do not let other’s perspective of reality define yours.
Keep your eyes and ears open to twinklings and whispers of bigger and higher accomplishments.
Be aware of opportunities that others do not see.
Define your own reality.
If your reality is not how you wish for it to be, change it.
