“Why, Jon, why?”, his mother asked. “Why is it so hard to be like the rest of the flock?”
“Why can’t you leave low flying to the pelicans, the albatross? Why don’t you eat? Son, you’re bone and feathers!”
Jonathan Livingston Seagull’s response?
“I don’t mind being bone and feathers mom. I just want to know what I can do in the air and what I can’t, that’s all. I just want to know.”
Only one book during my young teenage years had a greater impact upon me than Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach.
It inspired me to be different than the rest of the flock and test the limits of everything.
Everything!
If your life is identical to all the other lives around you, then you have become just another member of the flock.
Not one in a million…but none in a million.
Strive to fly faster and farther and do whatever it takes to distinguish yourself from those drowning in the sea of complacency.
It’s a big sky…
