Reaching Forward…Each New Day

January 7, 2020 by John Hembree 3 Comments

Reaching ForwardOf all the goals that will be set for any day, for any week, for any year, only one really matters.

To reach forward.

My every day resolve is to simply reach forward every day.

Regardless of the ground gained or the distance traveled or the heights attained for each new day, if we are moving forward then we are successful.

Your greatest obstacle may be you.

Your greatest challenge may be those close to you.

Your greatest threat may be stagnation.

It may be that you are stuck in the mire of fear.

Your greatest hurdle may be to not stand still.

Start conditioning your mind to reach forward every day in some area of your life.

Fitness, academics, being a better father, a better mother, a better friend, a better something, risk more, procrastinate less.

Set a goal that no matter what you pursue each day, that you will reach forward in pursuing it.

One inch forward is better than one inch backward.

Even in the smallest areas keep reaching.

And pull others with you as you reach.

Identify those in your life who make you a better person, a stronger individual and who either pull you forward or push you forward.

Either way you are going in the same direction…

…forward.

    Good evening,

My name is Al L. Smith, II and am a member of The Rock Church of God by Faith. The theme for our church year happens to be “Reaching Forward”. I wanted to know if I may have permission to reproduce this picture on a banner and possibly some church literature that we will be using this year?
    Thank you for your consideration

      Al:

      Good evening.

Actually, it is a Google image that I utilized.

Hope things are well there at the Rock church.

      John

I have been contemplating this same thing! Our pastor preached Sunday about the wise men following the star. He ultimately asked us what star(s) we were following as his point was that we all follow something. This is along the same vein as being pulled/pushed forward and the question I have been asking myself is “if I know the direction I want to go (in this case forward) are the “stars” in my life (i.e. people, relationships, activities, etc,) encouraging me to move in that direction?
