Recently I shared with someone that for this 2020, rather than make a list of resolutions, I want to strengthen my resolve in specific areas of my life.
Upon reading St. Augustine’s Confessions I no longer complete a list of resolutions, but rather list those goals as more of a resolve.
So for 2020 here is my new year’s resolve.
“For a long time now I burn with desire to meditate upon Your law, and to confess to You both my knowledge of it and my ignorance of it – the first beginnings of Your light and what remains of my own darkness – – until my weakness shall be swallowed up in Your strength. And I do not want to see scattered and wanted upon other things such time as I find free from necessary care of the body, intellectual labour, and the service which either I owe men or do not owe but render all the same.” St. Augustine (Confessions, written between 397 – 400 A.D.
Now to put it into place.
St Augustine is one of my favorites. This is inspiring. Thank you.
