When each of my daughters told me they wanted to be teachers…
…I had no idea they were signing up for one of the most dangerous jobs in America.
Throughout the United States students are headed back to school.
The following article is from a recent study on guns and school shootings, which does not include the many shootings in public settings, as recently as yesterday, where a six year old boy and a thirteen year old girl was killed with a legally purchased assault rifle at a public festival.
Even as I am typing, just this morning, another deadly shooting at a retail location.
Be aware that this article could be troubling to some readers.

I am wondering. The extreme gun advocates who are willing to die to protect the 2nd amendment, what monetary value would they place on each of my daughter’s lives at the expense of that same outdated amendment?
Here is another amendment. The 5th Amendment.
No person shall … be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law.
It would seem that our laws are the very reason that people are being deprived of life.
What has to happen? How many have to die?
If the shooting at Sandy Creek and the absolute slaughter of six year olds won’t change the course of this issue, what will?
