An Everyday Expression of Hope and Its Potential

An Everyday Expression of Hope and Its Potential

I Am Inescapable

June 13, 2019 by John Hembree 5 Comments

Inescapable

I popped up here, then I popped up there.

Each time my co-worker would do a double take.

They finally said, “Are you following me?”

“No.”, I replied, “I am inescapable.”

Definition of inescapable?

“Incapable of being escaped, ignored or avoided.”

During the coming days?

 Be everywhere and anywhere.

Be unavoidable with your greeting to others.

Refuse to be ignored when you connect with the server at the drive-through, or at the table, and say, “This is going to be a great day for you.”

Allow no one to escape your presence without acknowledging that something about you is different.

Be the change in your office environment.

You should be the one who lowers the tension in the room, not heightens it.

Make a difference in the staff meeting as you offer solutions for the problem, not a rehashing of the problem.

Invest an additional sixty seconds with that student knowing it will make the difference in their ability to grasp the work.

All day long use words like “thank you”, “you are welcome”, “good morning”, “good afternoon”, and “good evening.”

Let nothing separate your co-workers from your sincere concern for their life, not just their daily contribution to the grind.

Be courageous in introducing yourself to the new employee.

They are as scared as you once were.

If you are in a supervisory role privately share with an employee their observed strengths, and what they can do to enhance those strengths.

Be inescapable.

Be totally impossible to be lived without.  (Think about that one for a moment.)

Others cannot avoid, others cannot ignore, others cannot be separated from…

…the inescapable presence of hope…and who has it.

Excellent insight on conducting yourself as a difference maker in everyday life interactions. Really enjoyed the workplace tidbits and I’m sure those are being expressed in your training classes to your new and existing supervisory staff. People enjoy coming to work when they feel appreciated.
