How many of these signs have you violated at some point? Me? Every single one.
It is not that I thought I was special or above the law, it’s just that I did not think at that moment, the sign was applicable to my self interests.
My self interests. A troubling phrase.
Some might argue that I have a latent problem with rebellion and lack of respect for authority.
Neither is the case.
It is just at times the sign instructing me did not allow me access or permission to proceed as I wished.
And my lack of adherence to instruction cost me in the wallet more than a few times.
This applies to life as well, doesn’t it?
We see signs all along the way of life telling us that we are speeding too fast for current conditions, that we are going the wrong way in life, that the road ahead is closed, sign after sign after sign.
But the stop signs…oh the stop signs.
Yes, I saw the preceding sign that said, “Stop Ahead.”
Yes, I felt the divided grids under the tires as I got closer to the sign warning me to slow down.
Yes, I might have even seen a flag man on site, trying to waive me down.
But I kept on going.
I wanted to get where I wanted to go.
I wanted what I wanted.
I…I…I…I…I.
We can disregard these warning signs on our way to fulfillment, but there are always consequences.
Be open in the coming days to the signs in your life.
Maybe you are simply going to fast and you need to slow down the pace before the crash.
Maybe you have a curve in your life coming up, yet you can not see it up ahead.
Maybe you are looking at a decision in your life and you are about to head the wrong way.
Maybe you need to yield to health concerns.
Maybe you simply need to stop and take into deep consideration where you are.
You may be at this place in life.
You must stop.
You have to stop or experience the consequences.
And then, make a legal U-Turn at the next intersection and re-calculate your life’s GPS heading.
Look for the signs.
They are everywhere.
