On September 10th of this year I will celebrate 59 years of life and will begin training for my next marathon which I will run on or just after my 60th birthday.
Having completed my last marathon in 1987 why would I think this a great idea?
Because our bodies will do more than we think they can.
In fact, our minds are often our greatest obstacle.
And it may be for you as well.
Maybe a goal you have, not necessarily running a marathon.
But…
You can walk, or run, more than you think you can..
You can eat less than you think you can.
You can read more than you think you can.
You can watch television less than you think you can.
You can say more positive things than you think you can.
You can think less negative thoughts than you think you can.
You can increase your time alone, just thinking, more than you think you can.
You can decrease your anxiety much less than you think you can.
Consider others more.
Consider yourself less.
The more or the less is determined by you…in your mind.
And the results are further developed in your heart.
That which is established in your heart will come out of your mouth, for ancient literature tells us, “Out of the heart the mouth speaks.”
“Think about things that are pure and lovely, and dwell on the fine, good things in others.”
And speak them…more.
Amen. Thanks for the reminder.
