An Everyday Expression of Hope and Its Potential

An Everyday Expression of Hope

High Hopes

High HopesMonday mornings. The last thing you are thinking about is the magnificence of Monday. You are trying to muster up enough enthusiasm just to get out the door.

Early morning flight on Monday.

Rain for your commute, plus a wreck, plus an overturned truck.

All on Monday morning.

Coffee machine malfunctions, copy machine jams and the vending machine takes your last four quarters.

All on Monday morning.

Yet, something inside of your brain is stirring.

The part that is functioning without coffee.

The part that is determined for this to be a great week.

The part that can not formulate the spelling of “defeat”.

You are an up person!

You see things differently!!

You love early morning flights because you get to see the sun rise as the plane gains altitude.

You love sitting in the rain in traffic because it gives you the chance to people watch.

You are smart enough to not schedule any Monday morning meetings before 10:00 a.m.

You gave up coffee for water weeks ago for health purposes.

You made your copies on Friday and you’re not sure the last copy came out.

It must still be in there.

“Oh well!”, you say.

You make the selection on the vending machine and not only do you get your drink, but quarters start spilling out on the floor.

You yell, “Jackpot!”, and everybody hits the floor scrambling for quarters like kids picking up candy from a busted piñata.

You are the one.

There’s always one.

The optimist!

You whistle O What A Beautiful Morning from Oklahoma at funerals.

You not only walk on Cloud 9, but you live on Happy Street.

You percolate energy.

You can replicate every move on Dancing With The Stars.

“High Hopes” by Frank Sinatra is your ring tone.

You win all the tickets on the radio.

People like you.

They love you.

Why?

Because you refuse to give in to “normal”.

You will not accept anything less than this week being fantabulous.

In fact, you have the opportunity to make this week abnormal.

Even for your lofty standards of expectation.

You are on the cusp of the greatest week of your life.

Here’s to High Hopes.
