Have you ever had someone knock at your front door and you did not go to open it?
Sure you have.
We all have.
It may have been a kid selling something, a person signing up people for the paper, or cell service, cable, etc.
It could have been a number of scenarios.
What if it was hope?
What if hope was knocking at your door?
We sit in our seemingly sheltered environment.
We sit and we stew and we worry.
We fix ourselves on regrets of the past and fear of the future.
We continue to hear the knock at the door, but, we won’t open it.
Who knows who it might be?
What if it is someone armed and intent on harming our family?
It is the unknown on the other side of that door that keeps us from opening it.
Life is reflective of this.
We fear and we fret.
We mope without hope.
And Hope continues to knock at our door.
“I stand at the door and knock…”
Famous words.
The person who said that, was a person who simply and sincerely brought hope to every person he came in contact with.
With love, he gave them life.
With gentleness, he offered them grace.
With a pure heart, he brought them hope.
You have fretted and feared, moped without hope, long enough.
Open the door.
