An Everyday Expression of Hope and Its Potential

An Everyday Expression of Hope

Living Out An Almost Life (What We Could Have Been)

April 27, 2018 by John Hembree 1 Comment

“Forgive us for what we could have been, but failed to be.”Silence

I was thinking back on that prayer I read last night from the book, Thou, Dear God, which are some of the recorded prayers of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. from a radio broadcast in 1953.

There were many that were beautiful and inspired me to meditate upon the conveyed thought and prayer.

One in particular though caught my attention.

The specific words were these, which continue to inspire, influence and guide my dreams for the future.

Maybe yours as well.

“Forgive us for what we could have been, but failed to be.”

In this day where good people find their voices weakened, when they can find their voice at all, it is often not what we do say, but the silence of what we do not say that speaks the loudest.
