Recruiting of executives?
The custodian at the inner city school?
There is no level in society or economic status that is not enhanced by finding the perfect fit.
In the book, The Future Of The Mind, by Dr. Michio Kaku, he introduces the book this way, “The two greatest mysteries in all of nature are the mind and the universe.”
Dr. Kaku, in addition adds, “The ultimate question is: Where do we fit into this great cosmic scheme? As the great Victorian biologist Thomas Huxley once said, ‘The question of all questions for humanity, the problem which lies behind all others and is more interesting than any of them, is that of the determination of man’s place in Nature and his relation to the Cosmos.'”
Where do we fit in?
What is our perfect fit?
You may be like me.
Helping to find someone else find their perfect fit, is my perfect fit.
Nothing brings me a greater sense of accomplishment than helping someone find their place in life.
If I could earn a modest salary connecting the dots between resources, both human and capital, and serve people to help them find what is their perfect fit in this life?
I could die a fulfilled man.
It is a bit naïve, but I do not believe we are born simply to one day die.
We each have a perfect fit.
I often ask people people these five questions when they begin to share their dreams for their life.
Social scientists, psychologists and others, much smarter than me, have spent lifetimes of research on surveys and employment data analysis in search for the secret door which unlocks the cavernous space of the human mind.
Here are five simple questions that when one answers with gut honest brutality, there is little left to question as to what is their perfect fit.
It then becomes not a matter of what, but of how.
The “what we are to do while on this earth”, is the hard part which takes most of our lives to determine.
The “how we are to do the what we are to do”, will fall into place.
Here are the five questions.
1. What do you want to do with your life?
2. What are you born to do?
3. What makes your heart beat faster when you think about it and talk about it with others?
4. Why do you have DNA that no one else on earth shares?
5. Placing all other considerations aside, what is your perfect fit?
Certainly, greater minds than mine have explored the question of labor, human capital and occupational compatibility.
However, if you can find someone who will answer these questions with no diplomacy, nor fear that the wrong answer will endanger their chances of career advancement, you will not only unlock the mystery of the human mind, but you will find also the unlimited potential of the human spirit.
