An Everyday Expression of Hope and Its Potential

An Everyday Expression of Hope

Can and Can’t

March 5, 2016 by John Hembree Leave a Comment

Can and Can'tEarlier today I began making a list in my mind.

A list of things I can and can’t do.

What would your list look like?

For example, I can not sit at a piano and play even the simplest classical composition.

But I can write music.

I can not speak any foreign language.

But I can through an interpreter communicate with most of the world.

The point is, we often get bogged down and become discouraged with all the things we can’t do, and do not put our efforts toward the things we can.

I am a firm believer that we should not focus on our weaknesses, and should instead, with laser type focus work toward strengthening our strengths.

You are wired so specifically and are gifted in specific areas.

Why would you work so hard in an area which you do not have a strength, or a gift?

Make a list of those things you can’t do and a list of things you most definitely can do.

You will be encouraged and hopefully motivated by the unique abilities you already have at your disposal that could benefit others.
