You may think this odd…but in conducting a phonetic survey I found something interesting.
There is more than one way to pronounce the word water.
I went to several people and showed them a piece of paper and asked them to pronounce the word on the paper.
The word was water.
Interestingly enough there is more than one way to pronounce the very thing that brings us life.
I heard wauter, wodder, wutter, wadar, waudder and my personal pronunciation, wudder.
I discovered I do not phonetically enunciate the t.
I pr0nunciate the t as two dd’s.
Maybe it’s a southern thing.
Regardless of how one pronounces the word water, the object itself, the water, does not change.
Such are truths we discover in life.
Though we may arrive at truth in a different manner than others, the object, truth, remains the same.
Take love for instance.
If one hundred people were asked to define love, there would be one hundred answers.
Yet, if those same one hundred people were asked to describe love, words like patience, kindness, never jealous or envious, never boastful or proud, never haughty, selfish or rude might be used.
I once read this phrase, “Love does not demand it’s own way.”
That phrase in itself is it’s own truth.
We each bring an individualized perspective with us as we journey through life.
It is our individualized perspective that makes us unique.
It is our individualized perspective that enhances our personal value.
There is no limitation of perspective because as we grow and life stretches us, our perspective grows as well.
So, however you pronounce the word water, however you define and describe love, it is your perspective.
Be confident in your perspective.
It makes you…you.
