An Everyday Expression of Hope and Its Potential

An Everyday Expression of Hope

Our Times Of Need

October 4, 2015 by John Hembree Leave a Comment

New WeekYou may be looking at the upcoming week as a Monday through Friday avalanche filled with challenges of historical proportions.

Or you may be facing one more week of drudgery, work, cooking, kids and their homework, spouses and whatever today’s problem may be.

Boredom can be as bad as bedlam.

You can not predict the next five days.

You can not foresee that end of week results that you hope for.

You may not even have a goal for the week.

Maybe survival is the goal.

Here’s the tie in.

This morning I was sitting in our Sunday School class and the words from Hebrews 4 was literally coming off the page and speaking directly to me.

Example: “Everything about us is bare and wide open to the all-seeing eyes of our living God.” Verse 13

He knows your week ahead even though you do not.

Example: “He understands our weaknesses since he had the same temptations we do.”  Verse 15

He had to face tough weeks as well.

So what do we do?

Example: “Let us come boldly to the very throne of God and stay there to receive his mercy and to find grace to help us in our times of need.”  Verse 16

Christ has already faced the week ahead on your behalf.

All you have to do is accept that it is going to be an incredible, stupendous, better than crazy, beyond anything you could think or imagine kind of week…and show up.
