His enemy was not counting on this. In fact, they did not even think it relevant. It had been some time since they had even seen him, and even if they had, he was now less than a man, without sight, in chains, confined to a prison and working as a slave on a grinding wheel.
His life was no longer significant to anyone and he was a hero to no one. He was no longer a threat to the enemy.
What they did not take into consideration, possibly like those who may be in your life, is that you would ever regain your strength, that you would ever regain your enthusiasm toward life, that you would never regain your way back to a place where your life mattered, where your day to day existence was relevant and your humble confidence impacted those around you.
Certainly the enemy did not think you would return, as they did not him.
They had counted you out long ago.
Yes, you made some decisions that may not have been in your best interest. Yes, you chased after self serving pleasures. And yes, you may have divulged to someone the source of your strength and in doing so your weakness was found. You were now like any other man or woman.
Unfortunately, it is often the focus on our weakness that causes us to lose focus of our strength.
That is exactly what he did, as you did, and your weakness overshadowed your strength.
But only for a time.
No one was ever counting on this…
…no one was counting on the fact that your hair was going to begin to grow again.
As your hair grows so will your renewed strength, so will your confidence, so will your courage and so will your determination to revenge your loss of vision and the loss of the very reason you were born.
No one is counting on that. No one even sees it coming. Why should they? You have been locked away, out of sight and out of mind for a long time.
As he did, you already have within you that which you need most, the determination to come back, to be as strong as ever, to avenge all that was lost, so that your victory in the latter part of your life will be greater than the former part.
You have to say to yourself, “I will no longer allow my failure and weakness to be the focus of my life. I will regain my strength.”
A quote captured me while researching this subject.
“In the depth of winter, I finally learned that within me lay an invincible summer.” Albert Camus
God is allowing your hair to grow back, your strength to return and the worst winter of your life where everything around you seemed dead, to be over.
You are about to realize that within you there already exists your enemies worst outcome.
The return of the power of a Holy God.
