The company went to a college campus and asked the students to take blue and yellow tabs and write on the blue tab a negative word or phrase they had experienced in their past, and on the yellow tab a positive word or phrase they had experienced as well.
The company then asked the students to take a blue and yellow tab and write on the blue tab a negative word or phrase they expect for their future, and on the yellow tab a positive word or phrase they expect to happen.
The students then posted these blue and yellow tabs on two large boards side by side.
One for the past.
One for the future.
The board representing the past was evenly divided between negative and positive thoughts and represented by the colors, blue and yellow.
For the future?
The board for the future had far more yellow than blue, meaning that those college students predicted a bright future for themselves regardless of their past.
My takeaway from this commercial?
We cannot change our past but we certainly can determine our future.
As an experiment.
Change the outcome of something that happened five minutes ago.
Now determine to change the outcome of something that will happen five minutes from now.
You most certainly can.
Choose this, not that.
Watch that program, not the other.
Choose blue ink, not black.
But true all the same.
Determine today an outcome you wish to happen tomorrow.
Don’t wait until then to see how the decision turns out.
Envision a probable scenario that will happen tomorrow.
Decide now how you will change it today.
Change tomorrow for the better.
