In the fall of 2014, I wrote a note to myself and set in on my desk at home.
It said, “Pay off 2009 Corolla before the end of the year”.
I even sent that in an email to the representative at the bank where the loan is serviced.
I meant it when I wrote it.
The end of the year came and went.
My determination and faith remained.
Not every day, but many days I would repeat to myself my desire for the loan to be paid off.
Every day you do not see the answer to your prayer is one day closer to the day that you do.
We give up on God.
We give up on ourselves.
We quit knocking on the door of opportunity thinking no one will ever open it.
We cease asking that our prayer be answered.
Our positive thinking is positively gone.
We often feel, and I have been guilty of this as well, that God does not hear us, or that He has turned away from us, or that He simply does not care.
He does hear us, He has not turned away from us and He does care.
But God may also want to see how long we will continue to knock.
Will we turn and walk away or will we endure?
Oh, I almost forgot, eight days ago, we were able to pay off that loan so that now, two of our three cars have nothing owed on them.
New prayer. Next care. Year end.
Do not give up on yourself.
And certainly do not give up on God.
God has never given up on anyone that refused to give up on themselves.
You knock…God will answer.
Amen!!
