As my Christian faith has developed over forty seven years, for me, a defining thought has grown stronger and stronger.
I have found this also resonates in other people as well, whether they are people of faith, or not.
And that is, they are looking for someone to love me like that…
…but what is that?
Christians find it as one who will not leave or forsake.
Non-Christians may define it as no matter what happens, this person will not give up or me, they will not walk out on me, they will not let me go.
No matter what I do to them, they will not let me go.
And that is how I see Christ.
That he will not give up on me.
People may.
He will not.
And that is why, that through the ups and downs of this life experience, I can say that when I have locked into that type of love, which is rare, nothing can turn me or keep me away from it.
Men are not as apt to admit this, whereas women readily are.
They want someone to love them like that.
That no matter how long it takes, seven years, fourteen years, forty years, that no matter the circumstances, their love will not be lessened, nor the pursuit for it negated.
It cannot be diminished.
If you are looking for someone like that, if you find it, and once you find it, you can try to run from it, shy away from it, kill it, cuss it and ignore it.
It cannot be stopped.
It will not be stopped.
“But you, my perfect one, are the only one among them all, without an equal.” Song of Solomon 6:9 (TLB)
