My Heart…My Home.
Recorded by several artists.
“Come and make my heart your home
Come and be everything I am and all I know
Search me through and through
Until my heart becomes a home for you”
I thought this afternoon, any of us would like to have a heart so beautiful, so pure, that God would see as a place he would hang out.
How many times have we heard children say, when asked the question, “Where does Jesus live?”, and they answer by placing their small hand across their heart and they say, “He lives in my heart.”
Christ often surprises me when He comes for a visit.
I am not always looking for Him.
I am not always ready when He arrives.
My heart is not always clean.
It is not swept.
Things are not put away.
It seems He most often shows up when I least expect Him.
He does not look around and refuse to sit because everything seems a mess.
He does not ask why I did not tidy up before He got here.
He simply wants to talk to me.
To not be rushed.
With no outside distractions.
Just He and me.
The strength I find as a man is only surpassed by the strength I find when I am in His presence.
I want to have a heart that God may dwell in.
That He can find a home for His spirit, in my heart.
A beautiful heart, inside.
“Be beautiful inside, in your hearts, with the lasting charm of a gentle and quiet spirit that is so precious to God.” I Peter 3:4
