An Everyday Expression of Hope and Its Potential

An Everyday Expression of Hope

The Poisoned Apple

Poisoned Apple

We all have wishes.

For many, our wishes, are at times, confused with prayers.

God, bring me a husband or a wife that I might serve alongside them.

God, give me children that I might dedicate them to your service.

God, I wish for fame and fortune.

God, God, God, God, God,

However, be careful that in wishing, and even in your prayer life, that you do not let down your guard.

And that a not well intentioned person does not come along to grant your wish and destroy your prayer.

Many people carry around with them poisoned apples.

They are willing to share these apples with those who wish for things that will eventually bring them heartache, sorrow, even possibly death.

Ask God to give you discernment to know the difference between a poisoned apple and a divinely answered prayer.

John
