An Everyday Expression of Hope and Its Potential

An Everyday Expression of HopeĀ

Running The Other Way

October 5, 2014 by John Hembree Leave a Comment

PrayingI have never been one to avoid a situation.

I find it impossible to run the other way.

I have always found a sense of pride in sharing my heart, without hurting others, without making others uncomfortable.

The Apostle Paul asked God, three timesĀ to remove something from his life, and we are still not sure what it is.

I have asked God do the same, well over three hundred times, maybe three thousand times.

And yet, as he did with Paul, did not and does not take it away.

God kept Paul in that situation.

I wish it was not so.

I remembered this scene from Evan Almighty.

Grace is praying a sincere prayer asking God to take something away.

For God to, “Help me let him go.”

Life is complicated.

Life is often confusing.

And the softest hearts are the most vulnerable.

John
