An Everyday Expression of Hope and Its Potential

An Everyday Expression of Hope

The Benefits Of Goodness

September 22, 2014 by John Hembree Leave a Comment

Goodness

“Remember me, O my God, for good.”

Nehemiah 13:31 has been my life verse for several years.

Certainly none of us are perfect.

But shouldn’t we at least be attempting to live out a life of goodness?

There are benefits to establishing goodness wherever you go.

Here are ten of them from Proverbs 11.

Good?

“A good man is guided by his honesty.”

Bad?

“The evil man is destroyed by his dishonesty.”

Good?

“Good people are directed by their honesty.”

Bad?

“The wicked shall fall beneath their load of sins.”

Good?

The good man’s goodness delivers him.”

Bad?

“The evil man’s treachery is his undoing.”

Good?

God rescues good men from danger.”

Bad?

“While letting the wicked fall into it.”

Good?

“The whole city celebrates a good man’s success.”

Bad?

“Also, the whole city celebrates the godless man’s death.”

Good?

“The good influence of godly citizens causes a city to prosper.”

Bad?

“But the moral decay of the wicked drives it downhill.”

Good?

“The good man’s reward lasts forever.”

Bad?

“The evil man gets rich for the moment.”

Good?

“The good man finds life.”

Bad?

“The evil man, death.”

Good?

“The Lord delights in those who are good.”

Bad?

“But the Lord hates the stubborn.”

Good?

“The good man can look forward to happiness.”

Bad?

“While the wicked man can expect only wrath.”

Let goodness be your theme today.

John
