“I never thought…”
A common phrase used to describe a negative occurrence in one’s life.
“I never thought I would see the day when my health would be so bad.”
“I never thought I would live to see this country in such moral decay.”
“I never thought my children would treat me in such a way.”
Then don’t think like that.
Do not think, what you never thought, you would think, that you thought, would never happen.
Your negative outlook is only going to further complicate the matter.
And for those around you.
It is easier to write about it than to take action to it I know.
But we must take action every time it occurs.
When we hear a negative phrase, counter it with a positive phrase.
Can’t think of a positive come back?
Then use scripture.
It worked for the arch angel Michael when battling over the body of Moses.
“Yet Michael, one of the mightiest of the angels, when he was arguing with Satan about Moses’ body, did not dare to accuse even Satan, or jeer at him, but simply said, ‘The Lord rebuke you.'”
A negative circumstance met with a positive response.
When Satan tempted Jesus and came against him with three different negative attacks.
Christ responded with positive responses,.
“It is written in the Scriptures”, “So it is written in Scriptures”, and “The Scriptures also say…”
As recorded in Luke the fourth chapter.
When you hear a negative comment about a current or future occurrence, you must respond.
Or when, even in your own mind, you begin reflecting on the negative outcome of the consequences based on the decisions of men and women, rather than the positive outcome of an almighty God, you must respond.
Counter attack the negative with the positive.
“I never thought I would see you again.”, as spoken by Israel to Joseph, who was sold by his brothers into captivity.
“But now God has let me see your children too.” Genesis 48:1
“I never thought I would live to see the day when God would destroy the world along with every living creature.”
“And I will remember my promise to you, Moses, and to every being, that never again will the floods come and destroy all life.” Genesis 9:15
“I never thought I would see the day when so many people would lose their homes and their life’s savings.”
Speaking of those who trust God, no matter what happens, “Their leaves shall never wither, and all they do shall prosper.” Psalm 1:3
“I never thought I would see the day when people of another religion would threaten our nation and Christianity directly.”
“O Lord, here me praying; listen to my plea, O God my King, for I will never pray to anyone but you.” Psalm 5:1-2
“I never thought I would see the day when my health would decline this bad and I would fall all the time.”
“You have made wide steps beneath my feet so that I never slip.” Psalm 18:36
“I never thought I would see the day when our nation’s leadership would fight this much and get so little done. What happened to Godly men who will stand up?”
“And because the king trusts in the Lord, he will never stumble, never fall; for he depends upon the steadfast love of the God who is above all gods.” Psalm 21:7
“I never thought I would see the day when I felt so despondent about life. Where is God in all of this?”
“Pour out your unfailing love on those who know you! Never stop giving your blessings to those who long to do Your will.” Psalm 36:10
Impact those around you with the positive declarations within your heart.
The positive declarations that God has placed there.
Be the difference in declaring the positive declarations of God.
