What is yesterday?
Simply, yesterday is yesterday.
Yesterday defined by Dictionary.com is “on the day preceding this day.”
I describe yesterday as a day in the past that’s unimportant.
We often live in the past and think about our accolades.
Or we live in the past and think about our mistakes.
As my father often told me, “We live in a world of what have you done for me lately.”
We let emotions, events, circumstances, achievements, and failures hurt our today.
If we get employee of the year it’s time to ease of the pedal.
In reality, people get rewarded to do better.
But often when we do get the reward, we get complacent or have a sense of false entitlement.
We cannot dwell too much on the past because life is about moving forward.
If you fail at anything, it’s natural to get a plethora of emotions, but keep your head up.
Then you should examine the situation and try to attack the task, while learning from your mistake or mistakes.
The key thing is to learn from the mistakes.
At times the past does help give a sample of the future.
But it does not guarantee anything.
Oprah Winfrey the most powerful women in television who overcame physical violence and sexual abuse.
Famous actor Mark Wahlberg overcame a drug addiction.
Yesterday is a day that cannot be changed.
Man has tried to manipulate many things, but one it cannot manipulate is time.
So now it’s your time to put one foot in front of another and make sure that today is better than yesterday.
“Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 3:13-14
