Everyone has said something at some point at some time that we wish we could have gotten back before it reached the ears of another.
It got out before your brain could tell your heart what was about to be said.
But then, that’s not accurate, because the Bible says, “From the heart the mouth speaks.”
Which makes it even worse!!
What was said came from the darkness of the heart.
Those hidden places, not yet given to God.
The heart, though in physical size, is roughly the size of your clenched fist, is actually cavernous.
There are chambers, if you will, where negative dwells and old wounds are re-opened.
It is at these times of discovery, that we ask God, as King David did, “Create in me a clean heart.”
Yet, where the damage is eventually displayed is at the end of our tongue.
“So also the tongue is a small thing, but what enormous damage it can do.” James 3:5 (TLB)
