You would have to be completely out of touch with the rest of the world if you were not aware of all the chaos taking place.
It would seem that the world is truly exploding or imploding, depending upon your perspective.
From Missouri, to Israel, to Iraq to Ukraine.
Yet in the midst of chaos and utter destruction there remains…hope.
It is found in Psalm 91.
In past years, upon learning that a young man or woman is going through either military or police, or fireĀ training I will either text them or jot them a note, citing a passage from Psalm 91.
In recent months, I felt to send military personnel that is associated with our local church, a note and a copy of Psalm 91.
If I had sons, or daughters, that were potentially going to be serving in military duty, law enforcement, or firemen, I would memorize this chapter.
I would pour it into your children in preparation that they might one day, potentially be in the middle of a catastrophic loss of life.
“We live with the shadow of the Almighty…”
“He alone is my refuge, my place of safety…”
“His faithful promises are your armor.”
“Though a thousand fall at my side, though ten thousand are dying around me, the evil will not touch me.”
Why does God promise this?
“Because he loves me, I will rescue him; I will make him great because he trusts in my name.”
I am a parent with two now grown daughters.
If I was a mother or father of young children, especially boys, I would pour this chapter from God’s Holy Word into their lives now, so that they might be protected by it’s promises in the days to come.
John
