An Everyday Expression of Hope and Its Potential

An Everyday Expression of Hope

Can Anything Ever Separate Us?…

August 19, 2014 by John Hembree 1 Comment

Nothing

“Can anything ever separate us?…”

The next three words reveal the answer even within the question.

“…from Christ’s love?

Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death?

NO, despite all these things , OVERWHELMING VICTORY is ours through Christ who loved us.

And I am convinced that NOTHING can ever separate us from God’s love.”  Romans 8:35-38 NLT

No and nothing does not leave anything to question.

I love the words “I am convinced.”

It means I have sat and considered any event or circumstance that might happen in my life and I have determined that there is not one circumstance, not one event, not one anything that can separate me, can pull me away, can cause me to stop, loving you.

We often read those verses as God’s love which can never diminish nor cease.

It can also determine our commitment to God as well.

No matter what happens in my life I refuse to be separated from the love of God.

I will not let go of it.

I will not give up on it.

I will not be distracted from it.

I will not be pulled from it.

I will not believe that it is anything but the very life that I cling to.

A clinched fist, heart racing, determination, that refuses to accept any other alternative.

I will not.

Later in the chapter Paul writes these words,

“Nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us…”

From what?

“…the love of God.”

John

How could anyone be separated from someone who love you enough to give their life for you!
