An Everyday Expression of Hope and Its Potential

An Everyday Expression of Hope

In Her Heart…

December 20, 2013 by John Hembree Leave a Comment

2013-12-20_2249Earlier this evening I had the opportunity to see a new born child, only hours old.

The child was so quiet and still.

The mother looked at the child with a quiet excitement regarding the future.

What did it hold for her?

What did it hold for the child?

Luke, not only a strong name, but also my favorite writer and account of the life of Christ wrote a beautiful verse.

It simply says, “But Mary kept all these things and pondered them in her heart.”

Did this mother know, as Mary did, that the circumstances of this child’s birth was extraordinary?

I honestly felt as though God was in the middle of a divine design that only He was aware of and I was standing in the room as an observer to something great.

I wonder what dreams this mother has for her child.

After a few moments I turned to leave and took one final look at the child and used the word, “Beautiful.”

As I walked through the hospital hallway I could not help but think that I had just witnessed something special.

And I still continue to wonder what is it, that this mother held in her heart.
