A few days past I had the opportunity to hear my second favorite preacher speak regarding the subject of endurance. I say second favorite, because even though he is my son-in-law it will take just a few more sermons to take the top spot from Dr. Ravi Zacharias.
In the sermon given by my son-in-law he dropped a line in the middle that was meant to be a point of encouragement for someone. It was actually intended for me.
He said in reference to Paul’s writing from prison and his current status and residence as a prisoner, “The prison that you find yourself currently in is not where you will die.”
I have rolled that over and over in my head for several days now.
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Nelson Mandela
The Apostle Paul
John the Baptist
Many others could be listed as those who were imprisoned and brought great freedom to others.
Nothing earth shattering to leave as a thought from me.
Except to say, as I texted to my second favorite preacher a couple of days ago as a follow-up thought to his sermon.
“Where you are in life does not in any way determine who you are in life.”
