I have often heard that phrase and it usually related to those who attempt to fill their lives with money, madness and mayhem and that they can not fill the God shaped hole in their heart.
It is true that only God can complete us, On God can give us the truest meaning of our lives.
Yet, there are times in our lives, all of us I guess, where we feel like something is missing.
It is as though the heart has a hole that will never heal. And when we dwell on it we become physically sick.
It is at though times we feel like a wounded animal, lashing out at anything near by.
The writer of Ecclesiastes calls it “chasing after the wind.”
I often watch people and wonder if they feel the same hole I do at times.
If God feels this type of loss as well when we give our lives away foolishly without thought as though our life has no value at all.
