On November 8, 1984, I completed a paper for a Bible college class I was taking at the time. Let’s see, that’s twenty eight years ago. Wow.
I found it tonight in a drawer.
For the next four days I am going to use it as entries and break it up into four maybe five entries.
…that I would find it tonight.
Here we go.
The strongest need for today’s society is a generation which has solutions of hope. The hope mentioned here goes beyond encouragement, beyond patronization. This hope brings direct and specific answers to society’s specific needs. The world cannot continue to exist without hope.
The Kingdom of God and Jesus Christ is the center of hope and therefore the future of this earth must rest in the fact that God is concerned for our future and has given the specific answer for our need.
In Jeremiah 29:11 God says, “For I know the plans that I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.”
That hope is Jesus Christ. A Messiah who with his coming brought solutions.
Solutions are given by people who are dreamers. God’s dream for a solution is Jesus Christ. A solution generation cannot be separated from the dreams that exist in the heart of God.
As I develop this thought let it be added that hope is not encouragement. Encouragement gives strength of heart which leads to those specific answers that only hope can bring.
