Dedrick Pitter – “Think bigger than you’ve been taught possible. Doing so, you teach someone else to think bigger than that, and the cycle continues. This, my friend, is the phenomena of inspiration.”
I have been dealing, as of late, with a lack of inspiration.
My mind has been stuck in a kind of mental doldrum of a magnitude that I have seldom experienced.
Inspiration.
The word has been used to describe the Bible. It refers to the fact that these authors of Scripture were given what to say by God, and that because of this, it is His Word, and no-one else’s.
And I believe that.
But it also has other meanings.
We as human beings do not make a move unless we are inspired to do so.
I do not think I am the only one who, some days, needs a little inspiration to get out of the bed.
Ok, maybe a little more often than “some days”.
Maybe much more often.
I am sure that God has inspired me several times in my life, guiding me through certain things and keeping me from making the wrong decisions. Steering me towards the better ones. I can find no better explanation for the way certain things have happened.
But I also believe He expects us to find a little for ourselves at some points in our lives.
And there is no shortage of places to go for words of inspiration. The internet is filled with these sites, these cyber-parcels of hallowed ground, meant to uplift you with cheesy quotes from people you’ve never heard of. And before you leave, be sure to check out their merchandise they’re offering at a “once -in-a-lifetime low price”.
One thing I have been guilty of many times in my short life is that I take things on myself. I am not only speaking to the fact that I am not always open to His help. I am also speaking to the fact that I have not always been open to your help as well.
We too often forget about each other as potential sources of inspiration.
I will no longer do that.
You are all inspiring individuals.
And I like to think that this blog and future works of mine will become sources of inspiration to others.
Don’t stop the dialogue.
We are meant to be one voice in the service of our Lord and Savior.
We cannot expect to be taken seriously if we are uninspired. If our speech lacks the conviction with which our predecessors spoke.
And though God has a lot to do with that inspiration, we can no longer ignore one another.
Be someone’s inspiration today.
Because inspiration, along with the right amount of effort, can lead to bigger things than we can imagine.
I have a prayer that I have begun to pray for each and every one of you( myself included).
It is simple.
I pray that you find your inspiration today. Whether it comes by His hand directly, or whether He chooses to inspire indirectly through others.
I hope someone finds inspiration through me.
And I look forward to finding inspiration through each and every one of you.
Vaya con Dios
