Everybody was trying to get there, to get a brain, to get a heart, to find courage, to get home. Those who lived there never wanted to leave.
In our nation we have preachers who proclaim we can have Oz and that all things will be wonderful, if only we will believe. We have politicians who promise Oz and I am beginning to believe that even they do not know the truth anymore. On either side of the debate and the aisle.
And allow me to take it down one more step.
From all that I was taught as a child in church and thought that could never happen? All that is now happening.
This morning I woke up with young children as part of my prayer. For their safety, for their future.
Later in the morning I was inspired to re-read Psalm 91. It is such a powerful Psalm.
Not a promise of Oz, but a promise of God.
I would encourage each parent and grandparent to pray this Psalm over your children and family.
I can no longer believe those that would espouse that God is going to blindly look away from a nation that has gone as far as our nation has gone. Do you really think that God has forgotten about over 45,000,000,000 children that have been legally murdered? If that happened in another country it would be called genocide.
Do you think that God is not aware of our nation’s shame in standing up for Him and His true gospel? Not the crap you hear from most of the religious personalities. From most, not all.
We have an inevitable judgement coming straight for us and no amount of prosperity preaching and wishful teaching is going to stop it. Not this.
Psalm 91:7
“A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.”
Why, because you were a Republican? Because you were a Democrat? Because you gave a seed faith offering to a guy on the television? Because you live in America, land of the free and home of the brave?
Not any of those.
However, verse nine and ten of the same chapter promises this.
“IF you make the Most High your dwelling – even the Lord, who is my refuge –
then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near our tent.”
If God did not spare Job who was the most righteous man at the time, if God did not spare him from such tragedy why do you think we will be spared?
Giving up? No. As the quote says, “I haven’t even begun to fight.”
There are many tough days ahead and they will not be solved in November.
For those who consider themselves prayer warriors the battle is in front of you and the enemy is here. And it is time for those who actually have something to say…to say it.
