A few years ago there was a movie out called The Pursuit of Happyness, with Will Smith starring as Chris Gardener, a man who overcame many obstacles and yet remained determined to pursue a quality and happy existence for himself and his son.
It is a tough movie to watch, but certainly makes it worth it in the end.
A few moments ago I found on youtube.com a specific scene that spoke to me when I watched the movie. Without taking away from the scene which I have posted as a tag to this blog, (without permission from the studio I might add), I feel it is such a strong scene that will inspire, hopefully, each of us to continue to pursue our dream. In the scene, put yourself in the place of the parent and then imagine yourself as the kid. With either perspective, we have to protect our dream and we have to encourage those we are entrusted with to protect their own dream as well.
Just today, I had mentioned my blog to someone, which is a dream of mine which I will continue to pursue. The other person’s response was to say, “It’s a great hobby, you should continue to do it.” First of all, thank you very much, I do not see it as a hobby, I see it as entrusted dream that has been put within me.
We each have an entrusted dream that has been placed deep within us.
Identify your entrusted dream and pursue it. And my gosh, don’t let anyone else, not even those closest to you to lessen your pursuit of that dream.
Who do you think put it there? God. And if God put it there and it will not go away, why do you think you are not pursue it? Let me assure you…you are to pursue it.
As we go into a new week, identify your entrusted dream, and go get it. Period.
