“Scars are not injuries…..A scar is healing. After an injury, a scar is what makes you whole.”
– China Mieville
How many of us have scars?
Not physical scars.
Things that, try as we might, will not cease to leave our hearts or minds in a fog.
These could be past grudges.
Regrettable deeds done in the past.
We carry these around, covering them up, Hoping no one will see them. We let them choke the happiness out of our lives.
I am constantly guilty of this.
We would love nothing more than to forget they ever happened.
But they did.
For such a young man I have been given my share of these scars. I have been less than perfect. I have seen a glimpse of the uglier side of life. I know I am not alone.
But you know what?
We seem to be missing something….
What exactly is a scar?
The mark left when a wound has healed.
You heard me.
Our Heavenly Father has delivered healing.
The ball is now in our court, my friends.
We must stop seeing our shortcomings as detrimental.
They make us who we are.
And who we are is special.
How do I know?
Well, there is a world out there that needs saving.
And if the Word is to be believed (and it is), we are the ones meant to save it.
