“The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place; and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You,me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard you hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done!”
– Rocky Balboa
We as Christians face an uphill battle on a daily basis. We are dismissed as religious nuts or ” Jesus freaks” ( that one I don’t mind a bit; on the contrary, I kind of like it). We face a world that is constantly on the offensive, trying to undermine beliefs that we hold dear.
What are we to do about that?
As a disclaimer, I don’t mean go out there and clean somebody’s clock.
I mean show them our true colors. Show them the possibility of living a life not bound by hate, prejudice or fear.
The world won’t be won easily.
But that is why you have the rest of us in your corner.
1 Timothy 6:12- Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called….
Show this desperate, melancholy world that there is more to life than what they have resigned themselves to.
And if you stumble, come back out ready for round two. Or three. Or four.
Make a statement that will tell this skeptical world that though it may do its worst, you’re still there, doing your best.
And I guarantee these people will wonder what possible motivation you might have to keep moving forward.
It is because I believe.
And I’ll bet they stop fighting.
Vaya con Dios
