Friends of mine give me topics from time to time for the blog. And I love that and use them. I have three topics I am working on now to write about later.
At other times I will see a quote, phrase or verse that will spark some creative thought.
That is what happend here. I was doing the Bilble flip, where you flip from chapter to chapter waiting on something to jump out.
And it did.
I am often hard on the American Church. Mainly, because I believe that other regions of the world are outlving us in tems of the Gospel being made alive and real.
So when I flipped to Matthew 23:3 it caught my eye.
Jesus was speaking to the multitudes and to his disciples regarding the scribes and Pharisees and said this, “All that they tell you, do and observe, but do not do according to their deeds; for they say things, and do not do them.”
This could apply to any of us really.
Take a moment today to reflect upon your words and your actions. Do they line up in terms of a Godly walk? I am looking at mine very strongly today.
What I am saying that I believe, is this is the same message that I am living? I can see myself on thin ice in certain areas of my life. We each have areas of weakenesses and strengths.
And this should be the assessment from the observations of another person. When they walk away from me would someone say about me, “John says things but does not do them.”
