An Everyday Expression of Hope and Its Potential

An Everyday Expression of HopeĀ

THIS DAY

March 6, 2012 by John Hembree Leave a Comment

Not one of us knows how this day will totally unfold.

We have an anticipated schedule. However, that could change with one text, one phone call, one email, one “can I see you for a moment?”

We want to believe we are in control, that we somehow have our lives in such order that outside influences could not affect the outcome we have chosen.

Noble idea.

Except that everything can change the outcome we have chosen, both for good and for bad.

So, on this day…

On this day I will choose for those I come in contact with to be more important then myself.

On this day I will choose to not look at the circumstances around me that might cause fear to drive my life rather than a confidence in a Holy God.

On this day I will choose to bring Hope to others who need it.

And on this day I will not pray about tomorrow nor have sorrow regarding yesterday…but I will remember the words of Christ when he was teaching his disciples how to pray.

“Give us this day our daily bread.” Luke 11:3

He did not say anything about yesterday nor tomorrow.

Just…

…this day.
