There is a book I read years ago entitled, The Beginning Of Us, The End Of Everything.
In the story, the main female character in the storyline says to her husband of seven years, “I don’t even recognize us anymore.” The husband’s reply was, “Let’s go back to Chapter 1 and see what happens.”
Out of the entire story, that is all I remember. The title and those lines.
And how true that is.
We lose our perspective, our hope, our desires, our initial intent, even our love, and we stand in a fog asking what happened.
Just a thought.
Maybe we should, as the husband did in the story to go back and re-read Chapter 1.
The book which has since the origin of publishing, been the all time best seller, starts with the words, “In the beginning…”
In your own life, in specific areas, you may find yourself at times going back to the start of your story.
What was it that initially drew you to that vision, that idea, that goal, even that person?
Back when the thought came to your mind, “What if…?”
Back when you first saw that special person.
Back when you first said, “Hello, my name is…”
Back to the beginning.
Back to Chapter 1.
Wherever you are in your story today, take an introspective look at your personal life, your professional career, your relationships and reflect on where you are in your story, and if needed go back to Chapter 1 and consider the first words of your story.
It’s your life.
It’s your story.
It has a great ending.
Now go back to see where it all began.
