Before I got out of my car this morning to come into work, I voiced to myself, “How do I make today different? How do I accomplish something spectacular today? This week? Beyond my own capabilities.”
I then transitioned the conversation to my head so as not to alarm my fellow colleagues on the elevator.
Beyond my own capabilities?
Yes, but not really.
We are born with gifts.
We are born with talents.
We develop our skills over our lifetime.
We are fully capable of doing something extraordinary today.
We, you, I, simply have to believe it and step out there to do it.
Do not allow Monday to intimidate you.
Do not allow last week to affect you.
The absence of identifiable resources available to you should not dictate defeat.
Not that I get all inspiration from sources such as American Idol.
However, judge and country artist, Keith Urban, gave some great advice last week to a contestant.
The contestant had given a seemingly lackluster performance.
Keith Urban told them, “There have been nights when I have gone on stage totally exhausted and when coming off stage thought I had given a lousy and forgettable performance. But I had people come up to me afterwards and say that my performance had been beyond the normal. That I had seemingly found a new level of energy. Why? Because I had to push through the circumstances and find something deep within me. I had to push through.”
You may be going through a Gideon experience where you feel those that supported you are dwindling quickly and yet your enemy or challenge is coming straight toward you.
You may be looking at a decrease in income and an increase in expenses.
You may be physically and emotionally exhausted from fighting through life each day.
You may be a caregiver to someone suffering from an incurable disease.
You may be any number of things.
You have to push through.
You have to find a strength deep within you and demonstrate to yourself and to those around you that you are an accomplisher of the impossible.
That limitations are meant to be exceeded.
That borders of doubt, that keep one constrained are for others, not for you.
That walls are for climbing over.
That doors are for busting through when locked.
That windows are meant to be broken to gain entry at times.
Do not accept Monday as a gateway to Tuesday.
Take on your Monday as a predictor for the rest of the week and that this week is going to be productive, profitable and provisional.
That you will be productive to produce the profit which provides the provision.
I am pushing through.
Beyond anything I currently see.
Beyond the circumstances that seem to limit my future.
I am a servant of a most Holy God and He has not determined for me to be anything less than a person of impossible accomplishment.
You have access to the same most Holy God and His determination for your life is the same as it is for mine.
Be a person of impossible accomplishment.
