“I get to see my dad for the first time in two years tonight. I have butterflies.”
May 26th – Saturday – Next day Facebook entry by the same female high school senior.
“Many of you know by now my dad never came for my graduation.”
What does God do with that?
How does he repair the damage?
How does God fill the hole in her heart, the one that a dad is supposed to fill?
We are at times strong people with fragile hearts.
Oh so fragile.
We seek those who complete us, who know us beyond our name, who we, quite frankly, we become inseparable.
My friend and soon to be published author T.J. Brand, when writing about those who are inseparable put it this way, “It has fascinated cultures for a long time. From Babylon to Boston, there will always be a longing in one’s soul to find a counterpart.”
So beautifully stated.
I am, with the aid of others, researching literature to find those who were inseparable regardless of distance, time or circumstances.
One lesser known story I heard about recently but have not read, involves a book entitled Beyond All Hope.
This line from the summary of the story captured my attention. “I hope you become ill when you think of me not being near you. I hope you have a hole in your heart that never heals.”
Broken hearts matter to God.
I believe he watches out for them, maybe before he responds to other forms of suffering, because the broken hearted, the individual…that is what matters to God.
Christ came for the one person.
And you and your broken heart are why he came.
To mend it.
To fill it with his love.
“He heals the broken hearted and binds up their wounds.” Psalm 147:3
“The Lord is near to the broken hearted. And saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Psalm 34:18
Can God deal directly with each of us?
Yes he can.
Does God often use other people to provide His healing?
Seek out those who are brokenhearted and bring them healing.
Oh, by the way.
Would you like to see the remainder of the female high school senior Facebook entry on the Saturday after her dad did not show up for her graduation?
Here it is.
“However, the good Lord above has blessed me with amazing friends and family who DID attend tonight. I can honestly say I am one strong girl and the Lord keeps placing people in my life for a reason. I’m fortunate to have learned many things at such a young age and I WILL BE very successful…there’s no looking back now.”
What does God do with a young woman like that?
God smiles, God becomes her father, God leads her life and God watches her accomplish great things.
She can not be stopped.
